Mystical Herbs and A Visit to the Moroccan Culinary Arts Museum

During Annika's three-day stay in Marrakesh, a visit to the Moroccan Culinary Arts Museum felt almost inevitable. The museum’s free guided tour offered a rich exploration of spices and herbs, of traditional pottery and cooking utensils, while also showcasing the stunning craftsmanship of the 18th-century palace it is housed in—interestingly built by the same architect responsible for the neighbouring Bahia Palace.

The visit also helped Annika solve a lingering mystery. During her last trip to the Moroccan desert, she had encountered an unfamiliar herb used by the Sahraoui people in a traditional tea. This visit finally revealed its French name “Latence Mystique,” although further information continues to be hard to locate.
