Philine Schiller was awarded a Fellowship by the Bavarian-American Academy to participate in “The Futures of American Studies Institute” at Dartmouth College.

“Off the Menu” was invited, alongside “The SEATIMES Project” based in Bergen, to join “BIOrdinary” research in Stockholm for a three-day workshop from May 20 - 22, 2024.

Off the Menu is chuffed that Annika Feldmeier has joined its team as a research assistant.

As part of Maya Hey’s visit to Bavaria, Off the Menu was delighted to host her “Sensoriography: A Workshop on Multispecies Methods” at the University of Augsburg on the last day of February.

In February 2024 the Off the Menu Research Group was delighted to host Maya Hey, a fermentation expert based at the University of Helsinki, as its first visiting researcher.

On 13 October 2023 Penelope Volinia hosted the Foraging and Narrative Workshop with Spontaneus Lab as part of the 2023–24 Season “Neither on Land nor at Sea. Meeting by the Mediterranean Im/Possible” for UNIDEE Residency in Biella, Italy.

From September to December 2023, Philine taught her course “You Are What You Eat: The Intersections of Food, Culture and Identity” at Mannheim University in International Cultural Studies.
